“It was never about anything else other than to determine his fitness levels to see if he can be brought up to speed. He has shown a willingness to get to the required level and is working hard. I guess you can say he has been signed, it is just that the management are waiting for the technical team to say they are now satisfied with his commitment and he will then get a contract,” said a source.
Masilela will be the second former Chiefs defender to sign for AmaZulu in recent weeks after Mario Booysen on free transfer last week.
The 31-year-old defender had a nightmarish start to his AmaZulu career when he scored an own goal during the 5-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday.
