Embattled Baroka coach Nyirenda backed

"Nyirenda has done a good job since he arrived at the club and we can't be disrespecting him like that," said one Baroka fan.

A section of Baroka FC fans who are insisting the club fire head coach Wedson Nyirenda have been told to support the club and the coach or rather stop coming to the stadium at all, a Baroka fan in Polokwane has revealed.

This comes after a group of fans stayed behind after the team’s loss to Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday, shouting that Nyirenda must be fired following a spell of bad results and that the club should re-hire Kgoloko Thobejane.

“We don’t condone such behaviour as fans. We know results have not been good in the last few matches, but there is no need to panic. Nyirenda has done a good job since he arrived at the club and we can’t be disrespecting him like that.

“We know the guys who were shouting and saying he must leave the club. We have spoken to them and told them if they don’t want to support the team anymore they should stay at home. True Baroka fans don’t behave like that, we love our team and we don’t doubt Nyirenda’s abilities,” said the source.
