A source close to Kaizer Chiefs development midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa has revealed to Phakaaathi that the youngster is yet to put pen to paper on a contract, even though it was reported by the club he had done so.
The 17-year old midfielder’s outstanding displays during the Caf Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations saw him attracting interest in his signature from a number of clubs.
However, Chiefs were quick to say Meyiwa had signed a senior team contract.
“Yes, he has not signed a senior contract. I just think they are only trying to save him because he is still young and not ready for senior football. But he has been assured that he will be part of the senior team next season, they just want him to continue learning and focus on developing as a player,” said the source.
Meyiwa is part of the Under-20 team that travelled to the Netherlands for preparations for the Fifa Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.
