After a remarkable debut season that saw the team finishing third on the log, the Citizens are looking to bolster their squad for next season.
And according to a source close to the club, coach Eric Tinkler has identified Memela as one of the players he would like to sign.

“Remember that it was Tinkler who brought Memela to Pirates from Cape Town All Stars. He did well under him and was a fan favourite, but since he (Tinkler) left Pirates, Memela has not been the same. Tinkler wants to resurrect his career and he believes he will do well here at Cape Town City,” the source told Phakaaathi.
Memela joined Pirates from National First Division (NFD) side Cape Town All Stars at the beginning of the 2015/16 season.
He scored five goals for Pirates that season – one league goal and four in the Nedbank Cup.
This season Memela has made only once in 20 appearances for the Buccaneers.
