A source close to Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo has revealed that his father, Patrick Mayo, wants to see him playing for Kaizer Chiefs before going overseas.

The young Mayo has been in scintillating form for Cape Town City, and he is said to be on the wanted list of Amakhosi.
The 24-year-old striker has 11 goals for Cape Town City this season, scoring 10 goals in the DStv Premiership and another in the MTN8.
The Cape Town City striker has been strongly linked to Chiefs, and the Naturena-based outfit’s sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr has revealed that the young Mayo is one of the players they are interested in.

“You know every father wants to see their son doing great,” said the source. “We all see what Khanyisa is doing at the moment, he has a lot potential to become the best striker in the county. There is no doubt about that, that’s why his father wants to see him playing at Chiefs. At a club like Chiefs, there is a lot of pressure as a player, so if you are able to overcome that, you can succeed anywhere in the world.
“That’s what his father wants, he wants to see him doing well at Chiefs, with no disrespect to Cape Town City, they are a great team with a lot of quality players.”
