Phakaaathi reported a few months ago that Cape Town City were interested in landing the keeper but were met by some resistance from Amakhosi.

“They know they are likely to lose him for free as his contract will be running out in just a year from now. So they know they need to cash in on him now.

“I have heard they are targeting their former keeper Thela Ngobeni should Sundowns release him and if they can get him to be the second choice behind Itu (Khune), then they can easily release Khuzwayo,” said a source.
