Chiefs look for Ekstein’s replacement

Ekstein’s contract extension talks with Amakhosi are said to have hit a snag as the two parties could not reach an agreement on the wages issue.


Kaizer Chiefs are said to be monitoring Menzi Masuku among other players as the Bloemfontein Celtic man is marked as a replacement should the club fail to hold on to Pule Ekstein at the end of the season.

Masuku has been doing fairly well at Celtic and scored a few goals.

“There are a number of players who are being monitored by Chiefs after the coach drafted a profile of the kind of players he wants for next season. Masuku is one of those but I believe he will be approached based on Pule’s situation,” said a source.
