Chiefs and Pirates in tussle over Celtic striker

Bloemfontein Celtic striker Tshegofatso Mabasa could end up at one of the top clubs in Gauteng next season, a source close to the player has told Phakaaathi.

With the recent financial troubles the club is facing, teams have been calling Mabasa and the striker is believed to be seeking advice from senior team members on which route to take with the stability of the club in question.

“I think for him it’s all about looking to his future now. He has been getting calls from a lot of clubs, particularly in Gauteng and I think that is where he will be heading next season. I know about Kaizer Chiefs, but Orlando Pirates are also in the picture.

“To be honest, those are not the only clubs after him. He had a decent season and you know in the PSL when a player from a small team does well, many clubs will be looking to sign him. I just hope he makes a good choice,” said the source.
