Billiat in the spotlight ahead of Soweto derby

Are Kaizer Chiefs set to lose Khama Billiat? That was the question that was on almost everyone’s lips on Thursday as Amakhosi were rumoured to be negotiating with Mamelodi Sundowns for the release of the nimble footed Zimbabwean.

Some claimed that the talks were at an advanced stage and could be completed before the start of the new season.

Amakhosi coach, Ernst Middendorp had on Wednesday denied that he had been made aware of any offers for Billiat, saying he would not entertain such even if it were to happen.

But with Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane said to be keen on having Billiat back at Chloorkop and reported to have made a R15-million plus players offer, things might change suddenly.
