Masilela hopes for new Chiefs deal

Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela is keen to sign a new contract with the Soweto giants.

Masilela’s contract at Chiefs expires in June, but the former Bafana Bafana defender says he is happy at Chiefs and would like to extend his stay in Naturena.

“It’s football and you can’t really predict the future or plan the future, because if it was only up to me yes at Kaizer Chiefs. But you know how it goes; it’s two parties, it’s negotiations and it’s not really up to me,” Masilela said.

“But if it was up to me, yes at Kaizer Chiefs.”

Masilela has found game time hard to come by after recovering from an injury, with Philani Zulu the preferred left back for Amakhosi.

“I’m 32 and I still have a couple more years and obviously we will see how it goes after this injury when I’m back on my feet.

“You have to check, it goes with the passion and the passion is still there. I still want to win trophies and as long as the passion is still there, and the body can carry me [I will carry on],” he added.
