Mekoa, who was once on the radar of several teams in the Premiership with one of them being Kaizer Chiefs, was released after he fell down the pecking order at United.
Mokate played regular football at the Team of Choice last season, making 33 appearances in all competition and his release comes as a surprise.
Kadodia says they decided to release the duo so they can get game time elsewhere.
“Mekoa and Mokate have left the club before the transfer window’s deadline last week,” Kadodia told Goal.
“Their contracts were coming to an end and we felt that we can release them on time to find game time at a new club rather than become fringe players with us.
“I think we’re covered in their positions.”
