In November last year, Phakaaathi reported that the Team of Choice was looking to replace Ernst Middendorp with De Sa.
The club unveiled De Sa as the new coach at a press conference today.

The former Ajax Cape Town coach says he is happy to have joined the Team of Choice.
“I’ve had a long relationship with the chairman (Farook Kadodia) and it’s great to be here,” said De Sa, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“The support here in Pietermaritzburg is second to none. The squad is good and the vibe I get here is very positive.”
De Sa’s first game in charge of Maritzburg is against Polokwane City on February 8.
