Malesela still looking for an assistant

Chippa United coach Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela is in the market looking for a right-hand man after the departure of assistant coach Tebogo Moloi.

Moloi joined Chippa in June, but the Orlando Pirates legend never got the chance to sit next to Malesela in the dugout in an official match as he resigned just over a month later.

Moloi is now linked with a possible return to the Buccaneers as new coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s assistant.

Speaking to Phakaaathi, Malesela revealed that he has certain individuals who he would like to work with, but will, however, hold his cards close to his chest.

“I am shopping around at the moment, going up and down” said Malesela.

“But it is not an easy thing to do because I want learn from the experience now because I don’t want to be in a position where someone loses his job because I do not approve of certain things … I want somebody who will understand.

“I don’t want a learner, I want a contributor,” said Malesela contrary to what Moloi stated as part of the reasons he left the Chilli Boys.

He continued: “But I want somebody who will first be prepared to understand what the team philosophy is all about and then contribute afterwards.”

Although Malesela kept his shortlist in seclusion, he insisted that his new second-in-command will be a legend of the game.
