Malesela not intimidated by Nigerian giants in Caf Cup

The Rockets were pitted against the former champions of the competition and many felt it may be the end of the road for the inexperienced minnows from Mpumalanga.

TS Galaxy coach Dan Malesela says he is not intimidated at the prospect of playing Nigerian giants Enyimba in their Caf Confederation Cup play-offs later this month.

The Rockets were pitted against the former champions of the competition and many felt it may be the end of the road for the inexperienced minnows from Mpumalanga.

But Malesela differs. “That story has been there. Even when we played the Nedbank it was there. It was always all over for us,” he told Phakaaathi.

“Until we play them, I will say ‘ah yeah, maybe that person was right’. You don’t make those conclusions before the game,” he added. The former Chippa United mentor said from what he has seen of Enyimba, they are not as threatening as some people are making them out to be.

“I saw some clips of this team, they are a fine team yes. But you cannot say they are an extraordinary team. I think we will compete,” he said.
