Newly appointed Baroka FC coach Dan Malesela has hit the ground running at his new job, registering a positive result in their last game and he says credit has to go to his players for their hard work.

Malesela’s side won 1-0 against Venda Football Academy in a Motsepe Foundation Championship Limpopo derby at Malamulele Stadium last Sunday.
The win against VFA was Baroka’s first this campaign in their last seven games, with the team having played to four draws and two losses.
They are in position 10 on the league standings with seven points in the bag.
“Quite a difficult game, both teams were desperate for points. We said to the boys, ‘look, if we have scrape for the points then let’s do that’. It was difficult in the first half with the wind blowing on our faces, but it got a little bit easier in the second half,” said Malesela.
“Credit must go to the boys for the hard work they have put in. They understand where we are and what we must do in order for start winning matches. Hopefully this (win) is the first of many to come.”
With the league on a pause due to the Fifa international break, Malesela revealed that the break will give him an opportunity to fine tune his squad and also look at adding some players in certain positions.

“There is quite a lot (that we need to work on). The Fifa break gives us a chance to get things right, look at our personnel – where we are lacking and where we need to beef up if we have to. We will see if there are players available because we need to have back-up in certain positions which we don’t have. This will give us a chance to really work on the team, but you can see that the glimpses are there (to continue winning),” he added.
Bakgaga will be back in action on 22 October with another Limpopo derby, this time around against Black Leopards FC.
