Sundowns were drawn against Al Ahly for the quarterfinals of the continental competition.
Mahlambi, who spent two seasons with the Egyptian giants, hopes to get a starting berth against his former side when the sides clash in April.
“Yes, I look forward to that [playing in the knockout stages]. I think it’s always about making your own mark,” Mahlambi was quoted as saying by KingFut.
“I was there [at Al Ahly] and I did not play, but hopefully I am going to play. I’m looking forward to it, I want to do well.”
