Al Ahly new signing Phakamani Mahlambi says he is honoured to play for one of Africa’s biggest clubs.
The 19-year-old completed his move to the Egyptian giants on Thursday.
“It’s an honor to join the best team in Africa,” Mahlambi told Kingfut. “I hope I can add a lot of value to the team, and I have faith we will win lots of trophies.”
Mahlambi returned to Wits after failing to clinch a deal with Vitoria de Guimaraes, having undergone a three-week trial with the Portuguese side.
It is reported that Al Ahly head coach Hossam El-Badry enquired about Mahlambi while he was on trial at Guimaraes.
