Mabokgwane looking forward to Soweto derby

Since his arrival at Orlando Pirates in 2016, Jackson Mabokgwane has seen many clashes with Kaizer Chiefs pass-by without him getting any action as he played second fiddle to Brighton Mhlongo and Wayne Sandilands.

However, all of that may change this coming Saturday when Bucs hosts Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium.

Mabokgwane has been keeping goals for Bucs lately, making 11 appearances with five clean sheets to his name. And now ahead of the much anticipated Soweto derby, the shot-stopper is glad that he might get a chance to be in the starting line-up.

“If I play, it will be my first derby so I will be looking forward to it. I am excited because the magnitude of the game is huge especially for the fans because they get the bragging rights if we win. It is a big game for us all,” said the shot-stopper.
