Maboe to snub PSL ‘Big Two’ for overseas move

Maritzburg United midfielder Lebohang Maboe says he will consider leaving the Team of Choice if there are overseas offers for him.

Maboe has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, but the attacking midfielder says he will stay with Maritzburg next season.

“Yeah… I won’t stay at Maritzburg forever but from here I want to go overseas. The only offer that I and the team will consider is overseas,” Maboe told Times Live.

“I still have a contract with Maritzburg that I have to honour‚ so I will still be with the team next season,” he continued.

Maboe says he his father, Sidwell Maboe, a former Orlando Pirates striker, is proud of him.

“He just motivates a lot. He just says ‘mfanami (my boy) just stay humble and keep working hard izinto zizozenzakalela (things will just happen automatically)’,” the tricky player added.

“He also reminds me that I need to keep on praying. He says ‘Pray and everything will then take care of itself’,” Maboe, who still has one-year left on his contract with Maritzburg, concluded.
