Mabena was said to be close to signing for Maritzburg United, with the Team of Choice boss Farook Kadodia claiming they were in advanced talks with the striker.
Celtic, however, have now announced that the former Orlando Pirates striker has signed a new three-year-deal with the club.
“Despite numerous media speculations linking Ndumiso Mabena with various PSL clubs, the experienced midfielder has renewed his contract with Siwelele for a further 3 years. He is contracted to Celtic until the 2021/22 season,” read a tweet from Celtic.
Mabena made 27 appearances for Celtic last season, scoring five times and making six assists in the process.
