Mabedi rejoins CT All Stars

National First Division side Cape Town All Stars have re-appointed Patrick Mabedi as their head coach.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows defender left Igugu leKapa in October after being in charge of the club for only one game, having replaced Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane.

Now the Gugulethu-based team has announced that Mabedi has returned to the club.

“Ahead of the second half of the 2016/17 National First Division season, Cape Town All Stars Football Club is hard at work training under the watchful eye of head coach Patrick Mabedi,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“Mabedi is back at the club after a brief spell last year and has been tasked with turning fortunes around and ensuring a respectable finish on the standings after what was a tough first half of the season for the Stars.

“The former Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows defender, Mabedi, will be assisted by long-time colleague Greg Etafia, the Igugu Lekapa goalkeeper coach. The season gets underway again on February 12 with a Cape derby against Santos at Athlone.”
