Live report: Platinum Stars vs SuperSport United

Platinum Stars will be aiming to clinch their first Premiership win since December when they host struggling SuperSport United on Tuesday.

Dikwena come into the league clash having failed to win any of their last six games in all competitions, losing five. Their most recent outing was a 1-0 defeat to Baroka FC in the Nedbank Cup last week.

In their last three Premiership encounters, Stars lost 3-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns, 2-0 to Orlando Pirates, and drew 3-3 with Chippa United. The poor run has dropped them to last position in the standings, six points adrift of safety.

Meanwhile, Matsatsantsa have also been battling through a difficult period. They have won only one of their last six games in all competitions, a 4-2 victory at home against Bloemfontein Celtic last time out in the league.

SuperSport’s last outing resulted in a penalty shoot-out defeat to Celtic in the Nedbank Cup second round.

Eric Tinkler’s side find themselves in 12th position in the Premiership standings, only three points above the relegation zone. However, a win could lift them into the top eight.
