Now into his third season as head coach of the club he once played for, Komphela has lost one and drawn three of his previous Soweto derbies in the league. His only official victory over Bucs was on penalties in the Telkom Knockout, while there has also been a 2-0 defeat to the Sea Robbers in the Nedbank Cup.
History though will count for little in the steamy cauldron of a packed FNB Stadium. And Komphela takes his men into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Sundowns earlier this week that boosted the Glamour Boys to fourth position and within four points of the summit.
