Giovanni Solinas’ men collected maximum points in their last two matches, bagging six goals in the process.
Having endured a tough start to the season, their first win came courtesy of a convincing 4-1 win away to a 10-man Cape Town City and was followed by a 2-0 victory against Free State Stars.
AmaZulu came close to stunning defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns, but had to settle for a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at King Zwelithini Stadium last Sunday.
This was the second time in a row where AmaZulu had shipped three goals in the space of 90 minutes, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to log leaders Bidvest Wits in the fixture prior to that.
Last season neither side managed to score in their two league encounters, as they both ended goalless.
However, Kaizer Chiefs have enjoyed complete dominance over AmaZulu, winning all six of their previous clashes before last season.
