Khune, together with young striker Ryan Moon, has returned to training after overcoming their injury issues and could possibly feature this week.
However, head coach Steve Komphela will be without three key defenders for the game.
Full-backs Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Tsepo Masilela are both injured, while Erick Mathoho is suspended.
Mphahlele will miss four months of action after injuring is ankle on international duty with Bafana Bafana while Masilela is out for three months with an ankle issue.
In addition, left-back Sibusiso Khumalo and new signing Teenage Hadebe are also still out injured, but Komphela can call on the likes of Daniel Cardoso, Lorenzo Gordinho, Kgotso Moleko and Philani Zulu.
Cape Town City boss Benni McCarthy has no such problems; even the departure of talisman Lebogang Manyama for Turkey and the continued absence through injury of star winger Aubrey Ngoma has not slowed down the Mother City team, who beat Bidvest Wits in an MTN8 semi-final game on Sunday to make it five wins from five games in all competitions this season.
