Leopards coach explain why he doesn’t watch penalties
Black Leopards coach Dylan Kerr caused a stir on Monday night when he hid behind his team’s bench during the penalty shootout against Bidvest Wits in a Nedbank Cup match.

Kerr says he doesn’t want the image of one of his players missing a penalty to stay with him long after the game is over.
“When I used to watch teams, even my teams I played for when someone misses and you get knocked out of the competition it sticks with you, it’s no disrespect to anybody it’s just the way I am,” said Kerr after his team lost 3-2 on penalties to Wits.
“People have different socks on for superstitions and I don’t like watching penalties, they are nerve racking in training. To be honest yesterday in training they all scored even the guys who missed today, but today they it wasn’t to be. We are upset as a club because we wanted to progress.”
