Lebese says he will celebrate if he scores against Kaizer Chiefs

George Lebese says he will celebrate if he finds the back of the net when Mamelodi Sundowns take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday evening at Loftus Stadium.

Lebese is set to make his first appearance against Chiefs, after joining Sundowns from Amakhosi this season. The 28 year-old was born in Mamelodi, but spent most of his career in the gold and black of Chiefs.

“Yes,” said Lebese frankly, when asked if he would celebrate a goal on Tuesday.

“I respect Kaizer Chiefs, they are a big brand, they taught me everything, but at the end of the day it is about entertainment, and about where I am right now. I am in a happy place, so if I score, why not?”

Lebese added that he has been ignoring the phone calls of his former teammates at Chiefs in the build up to this game.

“I have been avoiding talking to them for the past two weeks, that is how crucial this game is,” said Lebese.

“We will definitely speak after the match.”

Sundowns, meeanwhile, confirmed yesterday that they had signed a three-year deal with Hyundai to be their vehicle sponsor.
