Komphela wants to win Nedbank Cup for fans

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says he wants to win the Nedbank Cup for the fans and not to try and get his contract with the Soweto giants extended.

Komphela has in the past made it clear that he would like to make Amakhosi supporters happy by winning a trophy before his contract expires at the end of the season, even saying he would give up his life for that to happen.

“It would be very nice for Kaizer Chiefs to win the Nedbank Cup, for the supporters and not for Steve, as I said at the beginning, if it meant that I should die for the team to win the cup let it be, they love this club and they deserve something,” said Komphela.

Komphela will be hoping to lead Chiefs to the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup when they face Stellenbosch FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night.
