Komphela explains why he joined Twitter

In the past a lot of parody accounts have been created under Komphela’s name using some of his famous quotes and videos.

Komphela says learning about these accounts led to him thinking about creating social media accounts.

“Molweni, I have been made aware that there are numerous fake accounts on social media platforms making the rounds in my name. As such, I aim employing the ‘if you cannot beat them, join them’ strategy except with real makoya accounts. Perhaps I too will post a video soon,” read a tweet from Komphela.

The former Bafana Bafana defender has gained over 10 000 thousand followers in just over a week after joining Twitter.
