Komphela accuses match officials of insulting him
Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela claims that referee Jelly Chavani and fourth official Philangenkosi Khumalo insulted him during his team’s Telkom Knockout clash against Polokwane City, which Abafana Bes’thende won 1-0.

The former Kaizer Chiefs coach, who got a yellow card for his protests on the bench, says he felt insulted when Chavani asked him if he would like to take the whistle and be in charge of the match.
“They (referee and fourth official Philangenkosi Khumalo) were insulting me,” Komphela was quoted as saying by the Daily Sun.
“I gave Mandla (Ncikazi) problems today (Saturday) and I’m sure he’s tired, not only looking at the match, but managing me. When a foul happens, it is natural (as coaches) that we scream: ‘Hey foul’. But when he (Chavani) comes and says ‘Do you want the whistle?’ That’s shear arrogance.”
