Kekana loves scoring ‘crazy’ goals

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says people think his long range strikes are not normal, but they are to him because he has been scoring like that since he started playing football.

“The thing is I used to score when I was young so now it is something I like to do. To people, it looks crazy because even my friends say I am crazy,” Kekana told SuperSport.

“I agree I am crazy. Nobody would think of scoring from that far but I have done it and for me, it looks normal because I have done it before. It is something that I will forever try to do even if people do not find it normal.”

Kekana, who is currently in camp with Bafana Bafan, scored one of the best goals in his national team tenure during the Afcon 2017 qualifiers against Cameroon in Limbe.

His goal was subsequently nominated for the FIFA Puskas award.

The midfielder scored the only goal of the match during Bafana friendly match against Golden Arrows at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.

Bafana will face Guinea-Bissau on Saturday in an international friendly game at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, before facing Angola next Tuesday at Buffalo City Stadium.
