Keet comments on  Libya’s ‘soft’ penalty

Libya were awarded a questionable penalty in the second half of Bafana’s 2-1 win over the Mediterranean Knights when Keet was adjudged to have kick Anis Saltou in the face when making a safe.

Keet, however, says he got a chance to watch the replay of the incident and believes the striker made a meal out of the contact to get the penalty.

“It wasn’t a penalty, as a goalkeeper you are always taught to protect yourself because you are left exposed,” Keet told SAFM.

“I could see the striker running towards me and I tried to protect myself a little bit, I think he made a meal of it, and obviously the referee was keen to give that penalty, so they got the soft penalty, but luckily at the end of the day it didn’t matter to us because we went back down their throats and we scored the second goal we handled the situation well.”
