KCCA to go all out against Sundowns

The Ugandan champions host the Pretoria-based outfit on Saturday in the return leg at the Philip Omondi Stadium. Sundowns have the advantage having won the first leg 2-1 in Pretoria.

“We have the ability to knock out Sundowns and be part of history. We know the challenge ahead of us, because we are facing the defending champions, but we are hungry to become the first Ugandan club to reach the group stages,” said Ochan.

The shot-stopper Ochan added that he will dedicate victory to his late father, Dominic B. Elepu, who was laid to rest earlier in the week.

On his part, KCCA Head coach Mike Mutebi says that his players are ready for battle.

“The mood in camp is positive but most importantly, the players have the self-belief that they have what it takes to knock out Sundowns. I’m confident that we can get the result we want because our style of play guarantees us to create chances and we shall create them. We only need to be effective and put them away,” he told CAFOnline.com

The Ugandans will hope that their leading marksman Geoffrey Sserunkuma who has netted three goals in each of the games in their CAF Champions League campaign gets his scoring touch again.

Meanwhile, Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane who blamed his team’s poor finishing in the first leg expects a tough match against their host, who have set sights on a first time appearance at the lucrative mini-league stage.

“To have a 2-1 lead is an advantage but it’s also not an advantage. It’s an advantage if we keep a clean sheet or if we get a draw; but if they score it’s not an advantage any more so it’s going to be an open game. It’s anybody’s game,” said Mosimane.
