Katsande recovering after surgery

The Kaizer Chiefs technical team is hoping that midfielder Willard Katsande will be fit in time to face Cape Town City.

Katsande took a knock on his face during the Nedbank Cup match against Golden Arrows last weekend.

According to Chiefs physiotherapist Dave Milner, the Zimbabwean will be under observation this week.

“Katsande has fractured a bone in his face,” Milner told the club’s website. “He was taken to hospital for a surgery.”

“Katsande will be under observation this week,” Milner continued. “We will see how he responds to treatment during the week and take it from there.”

Milner also gave an update on some of the Chiefs players that are nursing injuries.

“We hope to have Maluleka and Páez in full training this week. Maluleka has a calf strain and Páez has a hamstring problem. They are both expected to be ready for the next game.

“Dumisani Zuma is recovering well from a groin strain. He will be out for this weekend’s match against Cape Town City,” commented Milner.
