Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Joseph Kamwendo has backed his former term to beat Pyramids FC and reach the final of the CAF Champions League.
The Buccaneers meet the Egyptian side in the semifinal, second leg clash of the competition at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo this evening.

The sides are locked at 0-0 on aggregate following the goalless draw in Soweto just under a week ago.
Speaking to Pan-Africa Football, Kamwendo says the fact that Jose Riveiro’s side are unbeaten so far in this season’s CAF Champions League proves they can deliver the goods at home and away.
“They (Orlando Pirates) are unbeaten until today. If you check, you will find out that they won away against a team from Algeria. It shows they are a good team that can go anywhere and get a result,” said the former Malawi international.
Kamwendo, who is now a coach at Creck Sporting Club, however, was quick to add that Pirates wasted a chance to make life easier for themselves with a win over Pyramids in South Africa last Saturday.

“They missed a big opportunity. They could have at least scored one or two goals and taken it to Egypt. It won’t be easy, but they can do it,” said Kamwendo, who was Pirates player between 2007 and 2011.
Kick-off for tonight’s clash between Pyramids FC and Orlando Pirates is at 8pm.
