Kaizer Chiefs legend slams KZN clubs

Kaizer Chiefs legend Doctor Khumalo says KZN clubs should be the best clubs in the country based on the talent of players in their province.

Khumalo believes KZN teams should do more to convince players who are from that province to stay and join clubs.

Khumalo has urged Golden Arrows, Maritzburg United and AmaZulu to recruit players from KZN ahead of teams from other provinces.

“The skill is its own in KwaZulu-Natal. I am concerned that there are a lot of players who eventually leave this province, trying to take the luck in Johannesburg or Cape Town,” Khumalo told Isolezwe.

“This should never be. Maritzburg United, AmaZulu FC and Lamontville Golden Arrows are not doing well. They should be concerned about keeping these boys from other provinces. This is not always good for me,” Khumalo said.

“Our players are bouncing by simply signing with the squad. There are a lot of players with names that have been signed by the bigger teams, and there is a big deal. I say, the players must look at the team that they sign for, and the soccer style will be quick to get used to it. If you sign with the group you are relaxed because the current ball wants your mind to be strong so that you can cope with obstacles,” says Khumalo.
