Juggling football and school is not hard – Mabunda
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda has found a way to strike the balance between playing for Masandawana and furthering his studies.

Mabunda returned to the Tshwane University of Technology to complete his studies which he abandoned in 2010 when he had to make the move to Black Leopards. His mother is the one who encouraged the 30-year-old to further his studies.
“It has always been my mother’s dream for me to be educated and I believe that it is something that I want to do,” he said.

“Only now I have realised why she was pushing me too much to focus on school and not only on football because what you get in school is the knowledge that you can keep forever.
“I thank TUT for giving me the opportunity to come back to school and they have been helping me very much,” he added.
On balancing the demands of performing for a big brand like Masandawana and keeping up the grades in the classroom, Mabunda says all is possible.
“When God has blessed you, everything happens accordingly. You never need to stress and you don’t need to worry. God helps you with everything. I can play football, I can be a man of God and I can go to school. All is balanced, nothing is suffering, all are doing quite well,” said the Bafana Bafana international.
