The Pirates captain will be with the Sea Robbers for one more season.
Pirates revealed that Jele and is agent Jazzman Mahlakgane met with the club chairperson to sign a new deal on Monday.
Jele’s contract with the Soweto giants expired at the end of last season but chairperson Irvin Khoza assured the defender that he would be offered a new deal when he dismissed reports linking Jele with a move away from Pirates in the coming season.
“Jele, who will celebrate his 13th year as an Orlando Pirates player this upcoming season, has been handed a one-year extension with an additional option to keep him at the Club up to the end of the 2021/22 season,” read a statement on Pirates’ website.
