But the veteran Zimbabweans said it is understandable that it has to happen.

“I have seen this happen before. When we were hired to work here we knew what the consequences would be when things don’t go according to plan. But I can’t go into details about what might happen at the end of the season. All we can do now is focus on finishing the next four games and get a spot in the Champions League and winning the Nedbank Cup. Whatever happens when the season finishes we will have to take as professionals.

“But it’s always painful when some of your colleagues lose their jobs because some of us are bread winners at home but at the same time you want the club to be competitive so it’s up to management to take that step,” said Katsande.

A crisis meeting was held at Naturena on Sunday last week after the team were humiliated by Chippa United who beat them 3-0 in their own back yard at FNB Stadium which saw fans rioting and throwing all kinds of missiles into the pitch and at coach Steve Komphela.

On Tuesday the team sent out a statement where it was made clear that there would be a major reshuffling at the club in June.

Katsande said the game was tough but they have to forget it and look into the future.

“It was a tough game for us. But we took it as men and as professional and we want to rectify mistakes, we can’t have the same thing happen again. It’s football… there is nothing you can do now to affect what happened, all we can do is affect the future which is the next game. We are working hard to try and redeem ourselves. We want to be on the right foot going into the Nedbank Cup semi-finals,” he said.
