I was never involved in Meyiwa murder investigation – General Sibiya
Former head of Hawks General Shadrack Sibiya has denied any involvement in the unresolved case of the murder of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and captain, Senzo Meyiwa.

In a recent series of tweets by a Barry Le Roux parody account, claims were made that Sibiya was called by Chicco Twala and asked to ensure his son was not implicated.
Speaking to 702’s Bongani Bingwa on Tuesday morning, Sibiya said those were lies as he had not been involved in anyway in the investigation.
“It is really difficult to tell why now and why me because I was never involved in the Senzo Meyiwa case from the start. I don’t know why I am being targeted now. These people are faceless and if they have such information why don’t they go and make it available to the police,” said Sibiya.
Sibiya has since left the Hawks and is now heads the City of Johannesburg’s forensics department.
He said he suspects the person behind the parody account works in the case.
“When you look at the tweets you can tell this person is involved in the investigation or close to the case. The names mentioned and the cases you can establish that this is not a normal citizen but someone with contact in the police service.
“There is no truth in it with regards to my involvement. If there was, the police know where I work. If I was involved why are you taking the information to Twitter and not the police because it is killing the case,” he said.
There have been rumours that the account is managed by Meyiwa’s father Sam Meyiwa who has been complaining about a lack of action in the case.
