Hunt blames error for Wits draw
Gavin Hunt blamed a “crazy” mistake for Bidvest Wits’ 1-1 draw at Cape Town City on Wednesday night.

The Clever Boys led through Phakamani Mahlambi’s early penalty but City won a free kick when Sifiso Hlanti commited a needless foul, and that resulted in Tshepo Gumede heading in the Cape side’s equaliser.
“We were in control, there was no danger and for the full back to make a mistake like that, and block a guy’s run when there is no pressure is crazy at this level and it cost us,” Hunt said in his post-match television interview.

Wits remain a point behind City at the top of the table, though they have two games in hand on Eric Tinkler’s side.
Tinkler was happy enough with his side’s display.
“I thought we played well. If I must be honest there were periods in the first half when we were not positive enough, nobody was looking to run beyond Judas Moseamedi … but other than that we were playing quite well. The goal we conceded was a bit soft in my opinion, but so be it, and the boys showed great character … we probably deserved more than a point.”
