Hiking Bafana fan arrives in Egypt ahead of Afcon kick-off

Prominent Bloemfontein Celtic and Bafana Bafana fan Botha Msila has arrived in Egypt before the opening game of the tournament between the host nation and Zimbabwe.

Msila left South Africa almost a month ago to travel to Egypt with Zimbabwe travelling partner Alvin Zhakata to watch the 2019 Africa Cup on nations in Egypt.

The pair were stranded for three days at the Kenyan-Ethiopia border after they were denied visas to enter Ethiopia.

Msila decided to abandon the hitchhiking road trip due to Ethiopian authorities denying them to go through their country to get to Egypt.

The Bafana Bafana fan thanked everyone for supporting his journey to Egypt.

“I want to say thanks to Robert Marawa and to Bev (Beverly Maphangwa) and my government for making sure that my travelling become easy. I have just arrived now thanks to everybody,” Msila said on Twitter. “It’s very hot here and thank you to everyone on South Africa for doing this for me especially to you Bra Robbie, Kenyan and Ethiopian Embassy I am grateful and so happy. I am and in Egypt.”
