Highlands Park appoint Da Gama as new coach

Highlands Park have confirmed the appointment of former Bafana Bafana assistant coach Owen da Gama as their new coach. 


Da Gama replaces Thierry Mulonzo and his assistant Les Grobler, who have parted ways with the club following a poor start to the National First Division season.

“Highlands Park have parted ways with coaches Thierry Mulonzo & his assistant Les Grobler following five games at the helm this season. The team suffered three back to back defeats following a promising start to the 2017/18 season,” read a statement issued by Highlands.

“The team would like to thank coaches Terry & Les for their immense contribution to the team & would’ve liked to have them usher the team back to the premier league unfortunately after deliberations the coaching duo decided to amicably & mutually part ways with the team.

“Owen Da Gama has since been appointed as the team’s new coach ahead of the season with his tenure starting effectively immediately with the match against Ubuntu Cape Town FC on Friday 29 September 2017 at the Makhulong stadium with the kick-off scheduled for 14H45,” the statement continued.
