Highlands on the lookout for attacking players

Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama says his side needs to find a striker and a midfielder to add creativity in their attack.

Da Gama believes his side need another striker up front to share the scoring responsibilities with Tendai Ndoro.

The former Bafana Bafana coach says his side will also look at finding a creative midfielder to give them a boost in the engine room.

“We are creating the chances, we are getting in the final third, but we are not finishing enough. I just think we need to get a very aggressive striker. Ndoro is a brilliant player but he can’t play alone up front Sekola is not where he should be technically,” said Da Gama after the game.

“If we get a quality striker we can cause a lot of problems for people. In the midfield I think we still lack creativity, but as long as we see our problems we have a chance to rectify.”

Highlands currently have Orapa United midfielder Tapiwa Nyamanjiva, ex-Kaizer Chiefs’ Mandla Masango and Enocent Mkhabela training with the team.

Da Gama says his side will look far and wide to find the right playing personnel, hinting they might have to look beyond the borders of South Africa for the players.
