Highlands coach confirms interest in Phala

Owen Da Gama has confirmed that Highlands Park are interested in signing Thuso Phala.

Phala was released by SuperSport United after six years with the club.

Following his release, the 32-year-old was linked with the Lions of the North and now Da Gama has confirmed that he has informed the club’s management about Phala’s availability.

“His name came forward, especially now that he has terminated his contract with SuperSport,” Da Gama was quoted as saying by SundayWorld.

“We obviously, are taking the issue to management but it will depend on quite a number of things, one being the financial implications because a player of Thuso’s calibre does not come cheap. Thuso has been around, and he is a product of Highlands Under-15. He then moved on to join Silver Stars, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars before joining SuperSport.”
