Fraudsters demand over R130k from Chiefs star

According to the Herald in Zimbabwe, the fraudsters also threatened to pose as the Kaizer Chiefs attacker and use his social media accounts to insult presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Cyril Ramaphosa to create a big scandal in Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare says the ordeal has left Billiat badly shaken.

“I have constantly been in touch with him since he alerted me of what happened at the weekend and I can tell you that it has been a terrible few days for him and his family because you don’t want to be targeted by such cyber criminals,” Mpandare is quoted as saying by the Herald.

“He is a young man in a very big city in a foreign country and you begin to wonder what else such people can try to do if they don’t succeed in their mission to try and con him his hard-earned money.

“It’s a serious case and the good thing is that Khama has sought help, from the people that he trusts, and he wants the world to know that this is what has been happening to him in the past few days.

“He has already made it clear he will not bow to their extortionist demands, but it’s the bigger picture that worries us and that’s what we are trying to deal with,” he added.
