The man who has been identified as Martin Phadu uses Facebook to speak to football hopefuls to offer them a chance to join Rise and Shine at a fee.

In the Facebook account, Phadu has the picture of City’s former spokesman Vusi Ntimane as his profile picture. Ntimane is currently working for Cape Town City.

According to Limsportzone, the fraudster has also created a WhatsApp group to communicate with young soccer players

“This has been going on for over a year now and he knows that kids are desperate to join professional clubs so he is using our name. We want to tell all young footballers out there that we don’t charge anyone for soccer trials. The team always issues an official communication if there are trials or any other public event, so we are warning youngsters out there to be careful and look out for these heartless people,” City’s Multi Choice Diski Challenge coach, Machete Willy Moloto told Limposportzone.
