Former Wits striker disappointed with World Cup snub

Former Bidvest Wits striker Amr Gamal was left disappointed after he was cut out of the Egyptian squad that's travelling to Russia for the World Cup.

Gamal left Al Ahly because he wanted game time, which would allow him to get a spot in the World Cup squad.

The striker left Wits before his loan deal with the Clever Boys expired after falling out with coach Gavin Hunt.

“I disappointed because this was my dream. It is the reason I left Al Ahly, to play more regularly outside the country,” Gamal told SABC Sport.
