Former Sundowns striker set to join NFD side

Mame Niang is back in the country and will be in the colours of struggling National First Division team, Royal Eagles if what Phakaaathi sources have revealed is anything to go by.

A source in Pietermaritzburg has revealed that the tall Senegalese striker was spotted at Eagles’ headquarters on Wednesday morning where he is said to be hoping to finalise his move.

The former Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns player has spent the past few months in Norway and is expected to be unveiled at Eagles before the end of the week.

“He is here. Management are looking to reinforce the team so they can avoid relegation and start afresh for next season and try and challenge for promotion again. Niang is seen as the answer to our woeful finishing,” said the source.

The 33-year-old Dakar-born striker has vast experience and has played for various teams in Cyprus and also had a stint at Wolfsburg in Germany.
