Michel, who coached Sundowns between November 2008 and March 2009, died after a long illness this morning.
Michel started his career as a midfielder for AS Aix between 1964 and 1966. He moved later to FC Nantes and played for the club until his retirement in 1982.
Michel managed several national teams such as France, Cameroon, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya and Morocco.
The French coach managed other clubs, such as Egypt’s Zamalek, Sundowns and, for two terms, Raja Casablanca of Morocco.
